A few weeks back Zoe and I took the train to Milano. I have been here more times than any other city in Italy do to the fact our good friends Rino and Gabriella live here.
I love Milano for this reason as well as the great energy it has. it also has some really great apartment courtyards enabling me to get some nice photos away from the usual tourist things.
I am probably a little prejudice but I think Rino and Gabriella’s is one of the prettiest.
It was a beautiful sunny day and Gabriella shares my love of walking so we decided to go to one of the many parks in Milano not far from her apartment.
Everywhere I looked was a rainbow of color?
Arco Della Pace (Arch of Peace) is a triumphal arch of Milan dedicated to peace between European nations reached in 1815 with the Congress of Vienna, It was inaugurated in 1838 and considered one of the greatest neoclassical monuments in Milano.Milano has many street markets and one of my favorite things to do.
This strange looking vegetable is in the zucchini family.
Peep a boo cauliflower.
Now some window shopping. The window displays are creative and whimsical.
It’s taking pictures through a window but sometimes you get some interesting reflections.
I love this outfit. That skirt is adorable.
I like to search out the vintage clothing stores wherever I go and Milano has some very good ones.
There is a similar black cat like this in West Hollywood, California.
Milano has some gorgeous flower shops and this one
is very special.
A really fun day but the best part is going to Gabriella and Rinos for dinner. Tonight we started with a
zucchini fattata and it was as delicious as t looks.
This is where she creates all her magic.
Their apartment is warm and comfortable.
Zoe found a spot and spent the entire evening curled up and watched us have a good time.
Beautiful post Sally.
Beautiful, thank you so much!
You’ve made me want to visit Milan! It looks gorgeous! Glad you and Zoe had a good visit.
Sally,
You surely have a lot of beautiful places to seee.

Such a lovely read! Milano is one of my favorites — if you ever have time, take the train from Milano to Zermatt and spend a night or two there. They allow no cars, the restaurants use locally grown produce picked that day, and the chocolates and Alps are to die for lol. So enchanting! I love the pic of you and Zoe with the flowers 🙂
Great post… love it….and thank you for sharing!
Milan looks even more beautiful in your pictures. Pieces of good memories.
Arrivederci!
Gabriella
Visited Milano once, briefly last year, to ride the Bernini Express from Italy up into the Swiss Alps.p (a UNESCO World Heritage site). Didn’t care much for Milano at all…..but your post shows a much more inviting part of the city. Grazie!
Thanks for sharing the beautiful pictures and descriptions.
